Living On A Prayer

Hello Everybody!

In 2 days, I'll have been on my mission for a full year! As I've reflected on this last year, I noticed some ways that I've changed because of the mission and by God's hand.

Fluency (2 Nephi 32)
Yeah, I can speak Portuguese fluently (and honestly, I'm proud of that), but I've also gotten better at speaking "with the tongue of angels." My relationship with my Heavenly Father and my Savior has grown. I've learned how to speak "by the power of the Holy Ghost" and to "speak the words of Christ." I can teach people about Christ's doctrine and help them grow, and I have learned how to help people apply this gospel in their own lives. By learning how to touch people through teaching by the Spirit, I can recognize the Holy Spirit guiding me more in my own life.

Love (Moroni 7)
While on my mission, I've interacted with many people, be it companions, friends, members, or other missionaries, and I've learned to appreciate and love them as children of God—even the annoying comps. But seriously, while I still haven't reached "the pure love of Christ [that] endureth forever," my capacity for love has grown thanks to God showing me how He loves.

Acceptance (Alma 29)
Another thing I learned is how to accept God's will and to relax when things aren't going my way. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have full power to realize our faith, our goals, and our dreams. However, sometimes "[we ought to be content with the things which the Lord hath allotted unto [us]." God has a plan for us, and it is incredible.

I know that I've grown because of the closeness that I have to God's word, and I am so thankful for the opportunity I have to be here serving Him in Angola.

I hope y'all have a great week this week!
