Finding The Elect

Hello Everyone!

Happy to say that we were able to help 2 more people make their first covenants these last two weeks! Mário and Rafael have both been baptized, and I'm super happy for them! I've really enjoyed teaching them, and they have such great faith in God's love.

These last two weeks have been a hard push to grow our teaching pool. Fortunately, we have a ton of resources and ways to meet tons of new people interested in learning more about Christ! Unfortunately, that interest tends to last for only one visit, but we have found some truly prepared people these last two weeks! Arsénio (he's Mário's uncle, the one that we baptized, but is younger so they say they're cousins) has been studying the Book of Mormon like crazy and came to us and said he wants to be baptized! He is always super eager in our lessons, and I'm excited to be preparing him for baptism this week! There's also a family we're going to start teaching and some more friends that came to church by themselves. We've got a busy week ahead of us!

It was Elder Pompeu's birthday on P-day last week, so we went out, played cards, and celebrated! We had a lot of fun!

Something really awesome about being District Leader is how in planning trainings, I study Preach My Gospel and the Book of Mormon. Because I'm studying with the intent to find ways to teach more like the Savior and the prophets and missionaries in the Book of Mormon, I find new ways to improve and be a more effective missionary and serve in God's work here in Angola. I'm really thankful for the examples I have in the scriptures and how God blesses me to help me become better in my service.

I hope y'all have a great week!

Elder Thatcher Bishop
