For Behold, This Is My Work And My Glory—To Bring To Pass The Immortality And Eternal Life Of Man.
Hello everyone!
I'm so sorry about missing last week. I got caught up with P-day stuff and district activities.
It took a bit of time to get used to it, but the food here is actually pretty awesome. They serve dishes that tend to be fúngi (a flour-based food, think pasta or rice but in the shape of polenta) with a sauce to go with it (I've only had the fish sauce but it is amazing) and beans on the side. I'd write the name down, but I honestly forget. Mufet or something like that? Not 100% sure. Good stuff though.
This week has been a whirlwind with our friends here in Angola! We've been having such great discussions and invited 6 people to be baptized this month. We're really excited as we prepare them for their start on the covenant path.
This week, we've taught the Plan of Salvation a bunch, and I love this lesson so much! It's always amazing to teach people about our eternal family, destiny, and purpose. I love how we get to talk about family and how Christ fits into our eternal lives. Our eternal identity is so important, and knowing the pattern of our life, from one end of eternity to the other, is crucial in impacting our decisions now.
I love how the only three identities that matter, according to President Nelson, are eternal: a child of God, a disciple of Christ, and a child of the covenant. When we learn of God's plan, we learn more about our living, loving Father, and more about our eternal nature. This plan is such a huge blessing for us, and not just after this life. The knowledge of who we truly are can bless us as we navigate this mortal probation—a time where we are tested, pushed, pulled, happy, angry, sad, loved, and everything in between. Immortal truths help us learn the truth of our mortal experience and keep everything in perspective. How incredible is that? One plan, that can be explained in less than 30 minutes, has enough impact, importance, and detail, to be endlessly studied and appreciated. The effects of the Plan of Happiness are endless—a plan for us, made specifically for me and specifically for you. A Plan of Happiness, a Plan of Redemption, a Plan of Salvation, a Plan of Mercy. A perfect plan to bring about a perfect work. To me, this is just incredible to know. How lovely it is to have such a wonderful Heavenly Family to put this together for us, to put everything together for us.
I hope you all remember who you are and have a wonderful time! Love you all!
