Rains Down In Africa (Ft. Toto)
Hello Everyone!
Things have been pretty great this week in Angola. We've got another baptism scheduled this Sunday, and people really seem to want to hear from us.
I've been reading more on church history, and it has really inspired me. There were so many miracles around those early saints and missionaries, brought by their strong faith and hard work. They were tried again and again, but they held true to their faith and were blessed so much for it. Because of their example, I'm trying to be more hardworking and diligent in my faith. I've also decided to notice more of the miracles I see all around me.
Earlier this week, I had a miracle experience! We were giving a lesson, and I was supposed to teach about the Gift of the Holy Ghost. The person we were teaching seemed really interested, so it was important that I taught the subject well. The only problem is, I can't say much, and I can only teach really simply. But as I started to teach, I didn't have to struggle for words at all. In fact, I didn't feel like I was thinking in another language at all. Obviously, I wasn't able to say all that I wanted, but the blessing that I was able to teach this one point well was really important to me. I haven't been able to teach that well since, so I know for a fact that was the Gift of Tongues and the Spirit working through me. I am so thankful for the miracles I see every day here.
A few days ago, it rained and all I could think of was that one riff from Toto's Africa. The rain was actually really refreshing! It was a really fun moment in our day, just walking between appointments in some rain. Eventually, when the song 'Africa' was done playing in my head, I had fun dodging puddles and whistling 'When I am Baptized' as we walked to our next appointment. These little moments can be so much fun and spiritually fulfilling in our lives if we let them be.
I'm so grateful for all God blesses me with, and I'm so grateful for the prayers of friends and family that bless me so much. I can feel so much of Heaven around me all of the time, and it's nothing like I've ever felt before.
I hope everyone has a good week and stays happy! Until next time!
