O Que Isto?

Hi Everybody!

With a second week under my belt, I can confidently say that I'm improving. I've seen levels of improvement in all areas that would be impossible for me to achieve on my own. I am so thankful for how God has blessed me as I try to improve. The language is coming, but with how fast I'm learning, I can definitely say that the gift of tongues is real. After 2 months, I can talk and teach with my companion. I'm still working on deciphering the Angolan accent, but I know that it'll come.

I have had the fun opportunity to try a drink that is only made in Brazil. It was really weird at first, but it's definitely amazing. Apparently, it's in the States too, but I've never seen it before. If any of y'all want to try it, it's called Guarana (I have no idea if that's the correct spelling; I've only ever heard it).

Still getting used to some cultural things here. It's apparently a social misstep to use the wrong greeting at different times of the day. Still not 100% sure when the definitive times are, but an interesting factoid about Angola.

We didn't teach many lessons this week, but we did get some good references from members and media work! So we've got some great lessons and work lined up for this week.

We had Zone Conference yesterday, and we had the opportunity to listen to Elder Dube speak to us. It was really an amazing experience; he gave us great advice on how to be better missionaries.

I hope this email finds y'all well!

Elder Thatcher Bishop
