Bishop, Thatcher PT

Hello Everyone! This marks the first week in my new area and it was great! This time I'm in a ward and it's actually really well established! The members have been super great and welcoming so far. It's also amazing how involved they are in helping with missionary work in the area. We had three baptisms this Saturday, and while I haven't known them long, Pedro, Teodoro, and Frank are super awesome, and I loved the lessons we had with them this week. This transfer, since I'm back in Luanda, I decided to go all out and try a bunch of new Angolan foods. Some were super awesome and others less so. My absolute favorite is definitely Gindungo. It's a pepper/hot sauce and it goes on just about anything. It's so spicy you can't put more than a spoonful on food because it heats up like nothing else. I absolutely love it and I will be making my own as soon as I buy some gindungo peppers. The worst food I've tried this week is 100% the caterpillar. It's sup...

Hello Everyone! Today I was transferred to my new area! I'm back in Luanda, but this time I'm in the Vianna area. I've heard lots of great things about this area, and I'm super excited to start getting to work here! This last week was a crazy push of preparing baptisms for next month and getting everyone ready for our general conference sessions at the church building. It was amazing to see all the people show up to watch the conference and to hear all the talks about covenants and temple work as Angola prepares for a temple! Hello Everyone! This week we had Zone Conference and District Conference! We had a ton of great talks and trainings. Something I really liked in District Conference was one talk that spoke about why we go to church. There was a great focus on Jesus Christ and His Atonement and what that means for us in empowering, improving, and cleansing us. The long exchange with Elder Lima went very well! He did a good job leading his area after only one transfer being there. I got to meet a bunch of new people, and we had a great time teaching the friends they have over there. I did have a bit of an accident, but I'm alright. We were playing soccer with some members, and I fell on an entirely conveniently placed rock. Kinda messed up my hand a bit, but oh well. The Safety Zone never covered tripping on nothing, so I was completely blindsided! No, but honestly all good. Hope everyone is doing well! Elder Thatcher Bishop

Hello Everyone! Elder Roque and Elder Tafisi are both up in Luanda again for MLC, so I'm with Elder Lima again! This time we're in his area for a couple of days, so we'll see how it goes. Unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to watch any General Conference yet, but I'm super excited to hear the words of the prophet and apostles! This past week has been good; we had some great lessons and are preparing a bunch of people for baptism this Saturday. It'll be a little complicated because I'm in another area for a few days and then we have Zone Conference, but this week will be a good one for sure. I hope y'all have a great week!
