MTC Week 2

Hello Everyone! This week we really dove into Portuguese! My teachers have all started speaking only Portuguese, and we have to speak it to talk in class. English words aren't allowed during class, and saying any means doing push-ups. The teachers promised that they'd do them too if they spoke English. No one has really had to do any push-ups yet, so my district is doing well with the language! On Tuesday, we were able to hear from Elder Peter M. Johnson of the Seventy, and he gave a great devotional on the doctrine of Christ. The MTC focuses so much on the Doctrine of Christ; it's amazing. It is so wonderful to spend each day talking about Jesus Christ and how we can best bring His truth and love to everyone. It really is amazing here, and I hope to carry this kind of spirit with me for the rest of my life. I am so glad to be a missionary and to have this chance to serve God. First Week At MTC

Hello from the Provo MTC! I am having the best time here! My district is amazing, I love my companion, my teachers provide us with great discussions, and the devotionals are insanely inspiring. Being here is like nothing I have ever experienced before. My district has taken to randomly using Portuguese words throughout the day, mostly we all just shout "Muito Bom!" when anybody does just about anything. We're doing our best and working towards our full immersion classes! When we aren't studying, we hang out as a district and just have the best time. Sundays here are a little funny; instead of relaxing, we work and study more. Honestly, though, it was probably one of my favorite Sundays ever. At the very end of the day on Sunday, we sang the "As Sisters in Zion" and "Army of Helaman" medley. Hearing 800+ missionaries sing that song was so powerful. I feel the Spirit so strongly here; it's amazing. I am so glad to be here as a missionary of God. ...
